What RV do you have? Our Silverback and our previous two Wildcats had a shutoff on the shower head.

Our last TT had an on/off switch, which was great. The new 5th doesn't have it, but it looks like the easiest way (and perhaps cheapest) way to fix this would be to change out the shower hose/head. Amazon has the Camco 43712 with an integrated on/off switch for under $13. Camco 43712 RV Off-White Shower Head with On/Off Switch : Amazon.com : Automotive

You can purchase a replacement head from most bath departments, to one that has the little shut off valve. We replaced the one in our XLR with one that has a shut off valve. It does help immensely with saving water while showering!

Look at the oxygenics shower head, helps with water pressure and has shut off on it..
We would not camp without one.

Do you mean the flow control gizmo? That will shut the water off completely?
I just put one in my camper but I haven't tested it yet.

Yes they shut the water off completely!

Credille here's another hint in case you didn't know.
You can use BOTH the gas and electric on water heater for faster recovery times when you both want to take showers back to back.
Then when done with showers shut gas side of water heater off and continue with electric.

This is what we use.

I threw away the water "restrictor" that came with the Oxygenics head. I didn't want to try and manage it with soapy hands and didn't see it happening with my daughter.

The Oxygenics I just bought at my dealer must have been the old model. It had a twist flow control, but not an on-off button too. The flow control on mine reduces the flow but not completely.
I looked at a control valve at Lowes and Home Depot, then decided to get a nice white shower hose on-off accessory from the RV Filter Store when I ordered a filter cartridge. I mounted it between the hot/cold hand contols and the shower hose. Easy to use with soapy hands.

This link points to the page that lists their accessories, it's called 'Positive Shower Shut-Off $4.95'. This is a pic of the chrome one.

Thanks for the link Rip, I just ordered a white one for our shower. Our Oxygenics shower head is about two years old and is like yours, just the twist flow control. That can be a little tricky when you're all soapy.

Just curious, when you turn the flow back on is there any effect on the water temperature ?

I bought mine from Lowes to replace the one on my Oxygenics showerhead. It's the push button type, seems much easier than a twist type.

Yes, it will be a little hotter. So beware. I think that's why the Oxygenics one doesn't shut off all the way.

Laughing, that's what I liked about the dribble control, the water stayed about the same temp. I haven't used the new control a lot. I've had both experiences in that short time.
I keep the shower head pointed away upon resuming.

Mine comes back C-O-L-D! With a capital "UGH!".
But I've learned to just point it away from me. I told my father-in-law about it but somehow forgot to tell my mother-in-law... weird how that happened.

Mine comes back on COLD as well; EVEN with the Oxygenetics "dribble" feature- it changes to a cold dribble- once turned back on, it resumes the normal op. temperature shortly afterward. I was told that I needed check valves unstalled on the supply lines as close to the shower control valve assembly as possible behind the wall to stop this problem. Randy
