Had you read Post #14 in this thread before posting, you would have seen that you probably have a HepVo valve, not a P-trap. These one-way valves (see the image) are used where there is not sufficient height for a P-trap, a common situation in RV showers. From the outside they look like a simple pipe coupling.

Don't go jamming a snake through a HepVo. You will destroy the tube within it, and be plagued by odors from the gray tank. You could try a plunger in the shower, or even a Drain King.

After you get it cleared, get a shower musroom to catch the hair and prevent it from happening again.

If you have a HepVo type valve in your RV shower most likely that mushroom thingy won't fit. Zero vertical space. My Hepvo is installed as an immediate right angle from the drain and couldn't get anything down it - including a DrainKing.

When delivered, our Cottage shower drain wouldn't drain from day one! Turns out some factory guy got some sealant goop on the end of the HepVo flapper and instead of trying to do something drastic myself in cramped quarters, we called Forest River claims and had a mobile repair guy authorized to come out and replace the whole valve. He showed me what the Bozo had done. We hadn't been able to take a first shower for a week. Just a finer screen in the bottom of the stall is a better solution IMHO.

Mine sits right on top/in the existing drain fitting that faces the shower. Sticks up a little but doesn't bother me or the wife.

Septic-safe

It is also important to make sure the cleaners and odor-suppressants you use are septic-safe.

If you want to anger a whole bunch of people at once, just use the wrong compounds at a campground and poison the septic system.

I think there is a pattern. When the shower tank is full enough to have standing water, I find that it won't drain even after the tank is emptied. I used a plunger to push the shower water down a few times and cured it. Lesson learned, don't let the shower tank get too full.
