Sink drain hose failed.

I'm curious if anyone else has had this issue. The drain hose from my sink to the outer drain in my Flagstaff MAC failed. This was after very little usage, setup maybe 15 times. It's extremely disappointing and also Forest River will not warranty it.

Has anyone else had this issue and are there any recommendations on a better hose as this drain hose is obviously insufficient for the usage or it was installed incorrectly.

Also, anyone know how to get into this compartment so this can be more easily repaired?

I've seen this happen when the sink was in a slide out.
Hose wasn't quite long enough for the travel of the slide.

No slide out, just the lift up sink/stove unit.

Still sound like it may not have been quite long enough for the flip.

Then they should warranty it. I never felt a strain on it, but I'll have to check it out when I go to replace it.

X2 - did you feel any resistance when you lifted the top or hear it rip?

Nope. It's plastic...you wouldn't hear ripping really. I noticed it when winterizing and I heard water hitting the floor under the sink when I was blowing the lines out.

Yes, if you are still under warranty, they should.

I believe I am, but they said they won't warranty it.

Anyway...not sure if I want them to if it's going to be replaced with this same thing. Think I'd rather have something that will last.

It probably needs to be a little longer. But be careful. If it's too long, it may create a loop seal and then it may not drain well. I had that problem with my Coleman Sequoia with the swing level galley. Once I got it in place, I had to move the line around until there was no loop seal in it. (A loop seal is like a P-trap, with the top too high for good draining.)

You should find another dealer if they won't.
Shame on them. They will likely let you hanging on something else too.

You can probably fix it easier than arguing with them but as you know... that's not the point.

It's not the dealer, it's Forest River.

Anyway, apparently it's past the warranty, but I thought it was supposed to be 3 years.

I figure I will just fix it myself, but I'm not sure how to get at the part under the sink or how to really get into the cabinet to replace the dang thing.

I would use a better hose, instead of the cheap thing you are replacing. Lowes/Home Depot/Etc. should have something you can use. Even normal garden hose would probably be better than that!

To me, if I am going to go through the work of fixing something, it is usually a lot better than when I found it. I don't want to do it again.

Normal warranty is one year unless you purchase an additional 2nd year warranty from FR within 90 days of initial RV purchase, I don't know of any manufacturer that gives a 3 year warranty. Some appliances have 3 year warranty such as Dometic.

A genuine hose store may have some replacement. Around here they can be called a Parker Store. Parker being brand of course.

West Marine carries a lot of heavy duty hose if you don't find anything locally.

Should be cheap to fix. Is it worth all the hassle??

Had this happen to my Flagstaff MAC too. I assume just from the constant lifting and lowering of the sink unit. I repaired it myself with a more heavy duty hose I got from Trailer Town. You can take the top sink/range portion off the top and turn it over and lay it on the floor. I took the drawers out in order to reach in and get to the drain side which was a pain. The only difficulty I had was because I used a more heavy duty drain flex pipe it was more difficult to get a really good crimp on the drain to the outside. This took a few tries to get a seal tight enough to not drip. My hose lasted 3 years before it cracked, I guess I was lucky.
