slow filling fresh water tank

We have a Rockwood Minilite 2511s camper we bought last year and find the fwt fills slowly and have gurgling sounds at times from the fresh water tank tubing as water is added. Also had small amount of water come back through air vent line. Has else run into this issue and did you fix it yourself?
Thanks

Is there a way for you to see where the tubing comes thru the wall and down to the tank? Maybe underneath the sink? If they cut the hose too long and has an upward angle it will cause these issues. Then it would just need to be trimmed

That is normal.
You are putting a lot of water in, and the vent line is small.

If you try to fill to fast, more water going in than air can get out. Start slow and slowly increase till you hit an even fill amount.

Our tank is covered from below but may find air vent by looking here and there

There is nothing wrong with it. It fills slow because you are putting water in faster than the little vent can keep up.

Just for point of comparison-it takes approx. 8 minutes to fill my 40 gallon tank. Even longer if low water pressure. As others have said, too much water w/o enough vent is probable cause. Mine spits thru vent if I try to fill too fast. Not to say that FR has not bent the vent hose on install, but sounds normal. You might be able to blow thru the vent to check for any restriction.

When I had this problem on an SOB TT, the service center found the air vent was bent and kinked when the tank was pushed up into position at the factory. They dropped the tank a bit and relieved the kink; filled just fine after that.

I use one of these to fill my tank. Water is on full blast, no burps until it is full.

Take a piece of tubing like maybe the hose from a shower, place it on the vent by the filler opening and blow on it, if a slug of water is lying at the low point, you'll blow it out and you can fill your tank

Its taken 25 minutes to fill 50 gallon tank. Stopping several times to allow air to escape the inlet hose. I use short piece of hose that goes approx. 8 inches into water line.

Just reading about your problem with the fresh water fill, I own a 2018 2509 by forest river and had the very same problem. This spring due to covid I decided to drop the under belly cover to examine the support for the fresh water tank as I sometimes travel with it full and may need more support.
Now while I was in there I found my tank fill problem, The actual fill pipe had a droop in it which would act like a trap in the line causing a restriction for gravity feed water flow.
Now someone in there wisdom at the factory decided to loop the vent pipe around that before being hooked to the vent causing a definite restriction once it got water in it with nowhere to go but spit and sputter if enough pressure built up. The fix was tie the fill line up so no water laid in the pipe and I unhooked the vent and tied it up so it also was unrestricted. I can now fill with an open hose with no back pressure buildup. Hope my experience helps. Great to have these forums to see others experiences and possible fixes.
Don't know where quality control fits into some of these problems that shouldn't be in the first place!

Thanks for your advice. Not sure if I want to try and open the belly. Their is a long row of screws right under the tank. Is it easy to do?

Delseb, how long does it take to fill your tank?
I've had two Flagstaffs, both took awhile to fill. I just knew it and didn't worry about it!

Better yet I use that and add one of these for precision. We have carried 100 gal or more in current and prior 2 rigs. And I fill at 3 or 4 gallons a minute.

That's a little slower than mine. I haven't timed it, I would say it about 15 for me.
