The great Dometic 300 toilet poll

So after reading so many threads about the Dometic 300 toilet becoming a stinky mess, and vexing so many owners, I decided to create this poll to see what percentage of people actually had a problem. People without problems don't usually write about it. For the record, I, like so many of you, have the same toilet, am nearing end of 3rd year of camping with it, with no problems. I put my head near rear of toilet, and can see the opening in the shell. Took a big sniff there, no odor at all.

Reminder, those not going to FR website directly may not see poll. I don't think it shows if you are one of those phone app people. Whaddya want for nothing, full functionality?

I just got poll up. For some reason, you have to make first post, THEN it allows you to create poll. Vote WFD!

I voted "No", but I replaced mine with a 310 anyway after 1 year.

Dometic doesn't show you the parts for where the ceramic splits from the plastic. All I needed was a gasket and a little plastic part that held one of the corners down but I had to order a new 310 for $205. I hope the "Right to Repair" folks crucify Dometic.

2020 Wildwood that is 16 months old. I started noticing the smell from my 300 toilet this summer. I contacted Dometic and I am waiting on a free replacement right now. I opted not to go with an upgrade because other than the smell I am happy with the 300.

I won’t vote. Once I say I’ve never had an issue I will have the worst issue ever.

Hahahaha, wife always says that. She wants to punch me when I say something like, "I can't believe traffic has been so light on this trip!"

We are on #5, on our Flagstaff 27 RLWS, and Dometic has paid for all but one. The 310 is 1" too long for this trailer. #5 has been doing well, though.

Seal disappeared

Have hade for 5 years with no issues. But on this last trip it would not hold water in the bowl. After closer inspection the gasket that is in the bowl is missing. No clue what happened to it so ordered a new rubber gasket it was probably over due for replacement

It's a2013, and the first toilet failed in Whitehorse on our way up the ALCAN. The trailer has about 35,000 miles on it, so it is being used. The trailer, aside from the toilet, has been normal maintenance.
