The response you get clearly depends on who answers the phone and maybe what kind of mood they're in. In the credit card churning game there's a term called "HUCA" when somebody at the bank doesn't grant your request for a credit limit increase, or whatever. It means "Hang Up, Call Again" but I'm not sure it would work in this case.

I agree with Hobienick that paying $200 is worth avoiding the hassle. I was just lucky that my dealer was supportive. Due to the nature of their market, they deal with warranty issues long-distance fairly often.

I understand what Chris and Hobie are saying. I just installed the new seal on my 300 yesterday. It had to be the easiest install of anything ever. When the time comes that I really, really need a new toilet Iíll call a direct number I had forgotten that I had. Iíll buy a new one if that approach doesnít work.
As an aside, I learned a lot about the Dometic 300. Itís basically not much more than a funnel with a water supply, a seat and a valve. Pretty simple stuff.
