Toilet issues

Morning, I have one of those defective Dometic 300 toilets. I pulled it a part cleaned and siliconed to attempt it from not leaking. its still leaking. I have decided to just replace it. What toilet should i replace it with?

Thanks Chris

As many other recent posts on this issue have pointed out the 310 is a great replacement. It is very close to the same size and most times is a drop in replacement. Due to the large amount of 300's having issues and the high volume of RV's being produced, they are getting harder to come by. I found mine on Amazon for $200.

Certainly a good toilet but often won't fit in the same space as a 300 or 310.

The 320 requires more distance from center of dump pipe to back wall.

Best to measure before deciding on a 320 vs a 310.

I found the 310 to be a perfect "drop in replacement" for a 300 in my TT and was so much nicer than the plastic potty I wasn't disappointed that a 320 wouldn't fit.

Will a Thetford fit? That’s what I have and have had zero issues. I’ve never seen a complaint about a Thetford.

While you’re waiting for your new toilet... oh heck. Rather than hijack this thread I’m gonna try to start my own new thread about my experience just a few minutes ago removing my Dometic 300.

Oh the heck with it. I can’t figure out how to post a new topic to this category. So let the hijacking begin...(or thread drift at the very least.)
I just removed my Dometic 300 due to a small puddle at the very base of the toilet. I’m pretty sure the leak was caused by pressure on the flange from where the toilet is molded to accommodate the mounting screws. My assumption is this will happen again in the next 4-5 years since mine is a 2016 model. I should have the new flange Tuesday.
I learned a lesson while trying to make sure the supply line doesn’t leak. Don’t vacuum the line unless you’re prepared for the siphon it creates!

Before you spend to replace the 300, give Dometic a call. They have been offering the 310 as a replacement for $50-$75 dollars(depending on who you get). I had the problem and they sent me one for the $75 with soft close lid. Worth a shot before shelling out more.

Do you still have their phone number? I can’t find it on their website.
My bad. I just found it. Here’s a whole list of contact info.

My recent experience was that, after a 1 hour wait on hold, I was directed to a "service center". For me, that was a phone call to the dealer where I bought the trailer. They were very helpful, where Dometic was not. YMMV.

Good to know. Maybe I’ll skip Step 1.

For replacement under warranty the toilet must be less than 2 years old and you must be the original owner.

That counts me out on both requirements.

My new seal should come in tomorrow. I just hope it’ll be as easy to install as it seems. Especially since I told my wife it will be simple.

So after 2 hours on hold they are sending me a 310 no charge. I'm not even the original owner. She said based on good will.

After 40 minutes on hold Dometic told me only if it’s still under warranty and a dealer has to install it.

For $200 you can just buy it yourself and avoid the hassel of the dealer and/or Dometic. You have to decide how much your time is worth to you.
