Toilet paper
What toilet paper is good for campers? I’d prefer to not pay the premium for “rv” toilet paper. Is the members mark toilet paper from Sams Club good?

Use whatever paper you want , lol. We use a small garbage can with a bag and don’t put the TP in the toilet, dispose of the bag into trash bin daily.

We must need worms. Someone just opened a can.
You will get answers ranging from, “You have to use single ply, RV toilet paper that melts the instant it hits water,” to “You can use 7-ply, super quilted home toilet paper.”
We use standard RV toilet paper. Your best protection is lots of water in the black tank.

One day the camping club got bored and we gathered up our various TPs. Put them individually into a jar of water, waited a few minutes and swirled. All broke up about the same, no real difference. Save money, buy cheap with comfort in mind. That's the straight "poop"

This experiment was also done by a guy that has been referenced on blank tank issues in the past. He test different products and methods on you tube I guess. He basically came out with same results. I think charmin extra soft broke down the fans while camco took longest but it’s been a few years since I saw the video.

We just use off the shelf paper, usually Charmin, and have not had any problems as long as sufficient water is used.

It doesn’t matter one bit which toilet paper you use.
The only problems I’ve heard and read of related to RVs and toilet paper all boiled down to user error, but for the most part, these are the same problems you would experience with your toilet and plumbing at home.

Interesting. I just did what the dealer recommended and bought the expensive crappy (no pun intended) RV toilet paper. I think once I run out of that, I'm going to go with regular TP.

Use Charmin from Costco at home. Been using same in RV for 30 years. Never a problem. FWIW.

I'll agree... a can of worms!
Here's my addition to the worm can... We've used the same TP in the R/V we have used in the house for close 40 years. Charmin.
Never an issue.
I've lived on a farm, waded in cow crap up to my knees, been inside slurry pits and septic tanks but I'd be absolutely embarrassed if I was at someone's home, sat down on a toilet next to a trash can with used toilet paper in it and be expected to do the same. I threw up in my mouth a little just thinking about it.
Just use enough water and you'll not have issues flushing/dumping.
Worm can overflowing...

That is exactly what we use in our Avenger. No issues whatsoever. We've got the clear elbow on the end of our stinky slinky, and I don't ever see anything alarming, at least as far as the TP is concerned
I made a "wand" to flush out the tank when we dump, which lets me make sure our black tank is clean when we pull away from the dump station.

One thing about the many, many, many can o’ worms toilet paper threads we have here, they all contain the same recommendations for brand/type of t.p. and the same opinions/contra-opinions.

There are many YouTube toilet paper test videos.
We have been using septic safe TP for years and NEVER needed any special RV tp.

We always used the same stuff we used in the house. Since 2008 and never had a problem.
Now down at the cabin, every other year we have a fresh supply of corncobs from the farmers field. FREE STUFF. )

Which ever brand that gets the bottom of your sitter clean.
Just do not put flushable wipes in your rv or home toilet, they never, nor will they ever work as advertised.
