Toilet Paper

Hey, I’m not a forum guy, pretty new at this, I had a question about toilet paper, I hear different things. We use Scott’s septic safe toilet paper at home and is our go to, I hear you can use septic safe toilet paper for RVs and I hear other say no you need to use RV toilet paper. I wanted to get other opinions who have more experience. Our camper will be hooked up to on-site sewer and will be on a seasonal site

Whatever you use at home is fine. Folks in our local RV group use just about every brand out there. If you look at all the brands, I doubt you find one that doesn't say septic safe.
We have been using Charmin Ultra for years. Of course we use moderation and don't use a half a roll each time.
You don't have to put up with the expensive and thin RV speciality toilet paper

We use whatever we can get our hands on, no pun intended. Since you are going to be on a seasonal site hooked up to sewer, just don't leave that black tank valve open all the time or you will have a pyramid issue with solids. Use a good tank treatment, I prefer enzymes, and only dump it when you need to.

Agreed with what was stated above. You could do a forum search but you will be in same predicament your in now. I wasn’t extremely worried but I read the forum almost daily just cuz. I saw a TP thread several years ago had a guy that tested stuff on u tube. He tested several brands and types just by placing pieces into a jar and shaking it. I believe don’t quote me but I think charmin extra soft dissolved the best.

As said above, any toilet paper is fine.

I agree with use the enzyme tank treatment, and don’t leave the dump valve open

Be sure to use plenty of water so it can help wash stuff out of the tank when you dump it.

Just use TP. It's designed to dissolve not only in Septic Systems but to not clog the Municipal Waste Treatment plants.

TP has come a long way since the days of this:

Inflation. It's now cheaper to use dollar bills. But I think it's newspaper. Or pages from old Sears catalog, which is less preferable, as the glossy photos don't clean well.

As far as the camper and toilet paper goes we use what we use at home. 35 years no issues.

Those old Sears and Roebuck catalogs we used in the Johnny house are now probably worth more than the dollar bills....

I hated reading newspapers since they left ink on my hands. Now what would that do to your royal heiney?

Remember seeing cab drivers in Korea with white gloves reading the paper and seeing them all dirty with ink. Some catalogs were thicker paper for the covers but phone book-like pages which may have worked. Just remember, grab the green leaves before the orange and brown ones.
