I cannot see any viable reason for a double 90. The tank port is on top, the commode is above that. Even if it's offset one way or another, double 45's and a nipple will always work.

Time for a video inspection camera to settle the mystery. Harbor Freight has them for 50 bucks everyday.

In my unit, it's a straight shot into the tank. In fact, I can ascertain the tank level by looking in....lol
Note to self:

Never EVER buy a used inspection camera!

Never have. I actually have 2. One is the cheap HF video cam that works flawlessly and the other is a Gradient Lens Hawkeye Borescope for inspecting rifle barrels. It was a grand.

I guess I shouldn't tie my phone to a stick and shove it down the toilet with the video recording.

If you have replacement insurance, why not?

Hole disc?

Thanks, once again, for all of your practical ideas. To retiredcamper47: What is a hole disc?

The portion of the top part of the tank they cut out to insert the flush pipe.
I've never seen one give problems when flushing the toilet but there have been lots of reports of them blocking the dump port at the sewer hose area when they become lodged against the port.

The hole disc (plug) often drops inside the tank (but not always) during manufacture and resides inside the tank where it can cause trouble.

I don't know if that exactly was our gray tank problem, but it was taken care of by the people that built it.
