Toilet Replacement Opinions

I had that dreaded issue with my dometic model 300 that collects sewage and stinks up the camper.
Credit to Dometic, all they wanted was the serial number and they will replace it. I have two options-

1. They just changed the design of the model 300 to solve the problem. They will replace it free of charge under warranty. (Apparently this design change just started Wednesday of this week 8/30/19)

2. I can pay an upgrade fee of $75 for the model 310 with wood- soft close lid. This model is a significant upgrade. It also weighs significantly more (not an issue for camper weight, but could be for others.)

What do you all think.... Option 1 swap for same cheap model with the fix. Or Option 2 pay for the upgrade?

The 310 is a improvement over the 300. We had a 310 in our previous RV and had one installed in our RP-180. The soft close lid is also a very nice feature.

If you have the space the 320 is a more home style version. Check carefully though as the 320 requires one additional inch of clearance on the back side and with the center line of the black tank plumbing.

We replaced with a Dometic 320 & love it. I also installed a no-slam seat.

My 300 stink model was replaced with a "reengineered" 300 model thru Dometic warranty. It lasted almost 2 years and did the same as the original. I bought a porcelain Thetford toilet to replace it. No problems since.

I ended up upgrading... thanks for the toughts.

Bob-
Interesting that you were able to get the "re-engineered" version and they told me they just started it a week ago. They smell as bad as their toilet on that one!

I upgraded from the 300 to the 310 ceramic. We really like the new toilet, almost like home!
