Toilet run constantly

What needs to be fixed to make the toilet stop running constantly? With city water, I have to go outside to shut off the water or it will over flow.

Thanks!

Sounds like the valve is messed up. A manufacturer and model number will get you more information than the guesses we can make now.

Maybe... but we don't necessarily know what this last sentence means.

Post #4 gives examples of the kind of information we are seeking. This may or may not be your specific information.

mj0528, .... with this post, I have no answer for your leaking toilet, but this is a good opportunity to see first hand the benefit of having a "toilet shutoff valve" (the link below is that thread, see post #1,9 and 12), .... what you are experiencing is one of the main reasons for installing one, .... when I first posted this mod idea, some replies didn't see the value of it, with one being " I just turn off the water supply spigot", but you are in a situation where you can certainly see the benefit of having one installed inside the RV, .... I do hope your leak is an easy fix, .... happy leak free travels, .....

Doh! Wrong part! Ordered the right one now that I see where the model is labeled on the bottom/back. I fiddled with it and the valve looks like a simple piece but after hooking it all up, leaked a little less so I'm waiting for the correct piece to come in.
