No ... we are experienced, knowledgeable RVers ... we do not leave our black tanks open even though we are "seasonals" ...

Well, let us know when you get it figured out. So far, a lot of things just don't add up, so this doesn't seem like your ordinary clog.....
Good luck!!!

I had a similar problem. There was a clog at the bottom on the toilet side. I bought a section of pex tubing and used it to clear the issue out. That in turn created another problem. Whatever was causing the blockage broke free as a whole piece and blocked the black tank drain. I had to have a sewer truck come out and he suctioned it right out. I think our problem came because we used different tp than normal for a while due to the covid hoarding. Cost me about $70 to have it cleaned out.
So if hers was clogged and you used the snake the clog may have moved to the black drain like it did in mine?

My black tank drain has a weird elbow in it and I couldn't get a vac house in there. On the toilet side the pex was maybe $6.

We had friends that something like this happened but in their front bathroom, the drain pipe for the toilet was to long and reached the bottom of the tank and eventually clogged from poo and paper then would not allow anything to pass, just something else to consider. Good luck

Maybe the pull that opens the gate broke and the gate isn’t opening.

This is definitely an unusual problem. I'm very curious about the cause.

Toilet

Had this exact same problem with a Rockwood 5th wheel. All was fine until water would not drain from toilet. Actually used a broom stick down the toilet and it hit something very solid, like maybe an elbow. After few solid hits with the stick it cleared. Still don't know what caused it but everything worked fine after that.

Sewer king

If you have a clog you can’t clear buy a sewer King it goes on the end of a water hose. You put it down the toilet turn on water. It will seal itself and blow out any clog without coming back up toilet. Had to do mine several times before taking it in and finding out my sewer line into black tank was to long. They cut it off haven’t had any problems since..

Snake indicates nothing blocked, yet water is suspended in the toilet when valve is opened. If air is below that toilet valve and the valve is opened , nothing short of a lapse in gravity will keep what is in the toilet suspended like Magic, does not matter if the vent is blocked it’s going down maybe not as fast as you like but it’s going down. What is in the toilet will go down as the trapped air bubbles up. This smells.... sorry for the pun

When we first purchased our RV we had a similar issue, the treaded poop pyramid.
We kept pouring near boiling hot water down into the toilet until it broke it up. We now fill the black tank with a decent amount of water before we start using it.

If the valve is open, and nothing comes out, yet the water in the bowl doesn't drain, there must be a blockage in the toilet or drain pipe from the toilet.
