Exclamation Very little to none at all hot water flow in shower only

I have checked the outdoor shower, the shut valve is open on the shower head and water is off.

I can turn the hot water side on the faucet in the shower only a quarter of the way to sometimes get a trickle and sometimes bearly enough to get mix with cold to get the shower head to function and be tolerable.

If i turn the hot water faucet more than a quarter the is no flow of water at all and i have to turn it all the way off again to get the little flow it will do back again. Sometimes there is no flow at all after repeating that a few times it will maybe come back or not. I have tightened the screw inside the knob and took it off, did not change anything.

Hot water flows everywhere else in the kitchen and bathroom sink is fine.

This is a 21ft 2017 stealth toy hauler. Nothing has been touch as far as valves or anything at all for winterizing and I have not looked at the water heater. The hot water heater is producing scorching hot water so that's not a problem.

Thank you for any ideas to help this is very frustrating as I been researching for days and can't find anyone with a similar problem with a solution that will fix this.

Depressurize the system and remove the knob and plastic cartridge from the hot side valve on the shower faucet.

I bet you find some sawdust/construction debris/plastic shavings in there.

Sounds like something stuck at the hot water valve at the shower. Lots of junk in new rv water lines.

There is something in the valve. you will need to take the valve apart. I have had a washer come loose in a valve once and did the same thing you are describing.

I'm not sure how to depressurize and check the shower valves or anything but I am capable of looking it up and figuring it out.
where is the hot water faucet valve located?
when I took off the hot water knob the plastic cartridge I'm assuming is the gear innards of the knob it did not seem to pop out or easily come out without breaking

Smile

thank you for all the quick responses! I am really appreciative as I am trying to learn all this stuff as we are living in this for the last year on and off during construction. Bought it brand new and of course, the wear and tear of living in it full time for months at a time will take its toll...

The knob with the H on it is the hot water valve. It should turn the hot water on and off - therefore, valve. Depressurize by shutting off outside water and opening sink hot water valve/knob.

Thank you, after depressurizing where can I check for debris? I took the knob off screw inside but couldn't get any further than that

Is there no plastic ring to unscrew? If you take it apart, be careful to note how to reassemble it.

Maybe send a picture of the shower faucet? Most are simple to take apart, some are not.

I agree with the many reply's as listed above. I had almost no hot water to my outside shower but good hot water flow to both sinks and inside shower. Ended up removing the entire faucet setup, disassembling, and cleaning out "new camper construction debris" .
All works fine now.
Good luck & happy camping.

This shouldn't be too difficult to fix. First, turn off the water (both city and the water pump) and relieve the water pressure by opening one of the valves/faucets that does work. I am assuming the non flowing faucet is in your tub/shower or lavatory and you have some water in your fresh water tank. Now remove the faucet handle and unscrew the valve assembly under the handle. Look into the remaining part still within the faucet and see if there ares any plastic shavings or other construction debris visible and remove it. If you can't see anything or you can't dig the debris out, have someone briefly turn on the water pump until the water blows through the valve. Hopefully this will dislodge any debris that may have been blocking the valve. Stay with the faucet and be sure your helper can switch the pump off quickly, else you'll have a lot of mopping to do. Once you are comfortable that the valve is clear, re assemble the valve and turn the water back on. Try mixing the hot and cold and see if the problem is resolved.

I hope the instructions can help get your hot water problem fixed... Swampy

100% chance this is the problem. Worst case, may have to replace the cartridge.
