Waste tank question

Hi all,

I have a new 2020 Salem and noticed something weird during our first outing. We used the bathroom sink more than the kitchen sink but after only 1 day, the kitchen sink was reading full. Then after the third day, the grey tank was still reading empty but we would hear gurgling sounds come from the kitchen drain when using the bathroom sink. For sure both of the drain valves were closed so they shouldn't be connected right?

Which model RV do you have?

It's possible that the sinks got tied to the same tank, but that's not likely. It's probable that the vanity sink is tied to the black tank.
The kitchen sink uses a lot more water than the vanity sink, so it's possible that a few uses could fill the galley tank.

I have the 26DBud. After doing some additional looking I learned that the kitchen sink is tee'd into the bathroom sink drain so they are connected. I guess both sinks are draining into the galley tank and only the shower is on the grey tank?? I don't love that since we almost never use the shower but do use the sinks frequently. I guess the gurgling sound was because the tank was about full??

The DW always uses a Rubbermaid pan to collect dishwater. It my job to pour it in the toilet. First three days out. Helps your issue and good for black tank operation.

On ours a valve can replace the cap on the sewer connection($20). Using that one can open and balance the two gray tanks levels easily.

Another option is re plumb the bathroom sink to the other tank. That could be a big deal.
