Question Waste Valve on Opposite Side from Outflow... Help

Hi friends, We just bought a 2020 Forester class C, chevy base. For some reason this was designed where the waste tank empty valve is on the opposite side of the rig from the outflow, and the grey water empty valve. A bit tricky if you're on your own. We've had an issue that even after we wait for the black to be done to empty the grey water, then close the black valve then the grey valve, we note that there is still residual in the line and when we open for the next dump, there is also residual. Has anyone else had this issue? We are bringing the rig in to have a solar zamp installed, so will ask the dealer about this issue and if there are issues with seals or whatnot. Any insight or advice on this would be appreciated. thanks!
