Water disappearing

Filled 30 gallon water tank. By the time I got to camp site 1.5 hours away I was down to 1/3 tank. There are two tubes protruding from my FW tank. One has a pet cock that drains when I open it...at a trickle. The other tube has no petcock and seems to "leak" quite a bit...but not now sitting at campsite. Ideas? 2012 Wildwood X-lite 26BXHL. 30 gallon tank. Click image for larger version

Overflow tube, your tank is draining as you travel by siphoning out this tube. After filling tank, plug it then travel, set up to camp and remove plug. If you don't remove bad things can happen. Like crush the tank game.

i agree with the siphon effect. i lost 1/3 of a tank last week. Parked on an uneven surface shifting camper to one side dumping water out the over flow on that side. kept trickling all the way to campground. water was still off at campground for winter so had to survive off what was left.

I dont know how to plug? there is no end on mine. maybe a push/shark fitting?

Ok...dumb question. What do I plug it with? It will siphon with the petcock closed?

I assume I keep the petcock closed on the other line, right? Ouch...that sounded real dumb...of course I close the petcock.

Ya, keep it closed. Probably the drain. A lot of guys add a valve they can open and close. That would be easiest.

Here is a similar thread from last week talking about the siphoning.

Does anyone know the dimension of the drain line? Trailer is in storage 20 miles away. I will shoot over to Menard's.
