Water filter
Hello all… After searching the forms I discovered that most water filters are leaking which mine has begun doing. I’ve read that most people remove theirs and bypass completely. Before I take things apart and cause more damage, do I remove the top two hoses going directly into the filter and put them together? If correct how do I accomplish this and what types and sizes do I use? Any help would be grateful

A 1/2" PVC coupler will do the job. Remove the fittings from the filter and screw them into the coupler.
My filter had PEX on each of the couplings. Smart folks say not to let the fitting rotate inside the PEX. However, I did. I let one fitting rotate in the PEX while I unscrewed it from the filter. Then you can rotate the filter to unscrew the other fitting. When putting the coupler in, I screwed the coupler to the 2nd fitting, then let the 1st fitting rotate in the PEX again when I screwed it into the coupler. I have not had any leaks in 3 years.
You seem to have a 90 degree fitting on at least one side. That will make it more difficult to unscrew. But it's not PEX. If it were mine, I'd remove the clamp on the white hose on the 90 deg fitting and pull the hose. Then you can unscrew the fitting easily. Put it back together with a good hose clamp. (Others will tell you no hose clamp, but I've had no issues with them in 6 years.)

X2, we had almost the same setup. Cut the clamp off the white hose. Remove the white hose from the 90. Take the whole filter off the wall and you can spin it to unscrew the 90 with PEX on it. Buy the coupler and a good hose clamp and reverse the above. 15 minute job.

How long did it take to start leaking? Just wondering what to expect with my 2017 Rockwood - which (knock on wood) is not leaking yet.

If you have the FR1/KW1, don't wait. They can crack at anytime.

Here is a tip:
Never try to remove the filter while the system is under pressure.

We like our onboard filter and we’ve had ours going on 5 years now with no leaks. Some have them, some don’t. Can’t really explain it.
However, mine is prepped with leak prevention measures. Actually, I did this to make winterizing easier, but as an added measure it can be used if it ever does start to leak:

I simply cannot thank you guys enough. Just got done fixing the issue and no leaks so far. Cost about $10 to fix and the hardest part was getting that darn clamp off.

$10.00? My coupler was only 67 cents.
I'm wondering what you spent the rest on. The clamp couldn't be more than buck, could it?
