Water filter

Hi..our rig is new. We have camped several times and notice odd taste in water. Our old camper the filter was removed and drained each time. How do we drain water out of the water filter?

It would help to know which RV you have and a picture of the filter would also help.

Having said that, if it's the normal onboard canister filter you have to unscrew the canister and dump the water out of it.

A lot of people just remove the onboard filter and use an external filter.

We are more A-R than most. We use the Clear2O sediment filter and taste/odor filter externally when filling the tank, then also use the onboard filter.

The OP said the rig is new, but didn’t mention if they are new to RV-ing. I assume the fresh water system was sanitized... Be sure to remove the onboard filter cartridge when sanitizing. If the rig was sanitized with the cartridge in place, it will need to be replaced.

Our filter housing is in the small cubby with the pump.

To drain the water out of the water filter you unscrew the bowl that contains the filter (a strap wrench or the specific wrench for your filter may be needed), then dump it out into a bucket. Maybe I am not understanding the question here.

It would help if you posted year, make and model of RV you have since you didn't list it in your profile.
