ShurFlo makes a 1 quart accumulator.
I tried it first and decided I wanted a bigger one.

I can see why. But I won't have as much room in my tiny A-Frame as is in the basement of your big rig.

On your hose or spigot.

I just use a separate filter on a spigot in the kitchen, use it for all the drinking water, cooking etc. Omnipure Q is the model

Then use a cheap camco filter for the water coming into the coach, or into my tank if I am not sure of the water quality.

Twice protected is good. AND the Watts Adjustable 263A Regulator on the inlet at the camper.

I am already thinking of a mod to have a dedicated filtered spicket for drinking. I still haven't decided if it is my home, but there is a good decrease in pressure.

I you do it at the camper it is more secure and protects the camper plumbing but not the hose to the spigot. 6 of one ...

That is what I have done too. One reason is that it is less fiddly to have the regulator permanently attached between the hose end and right angle connector that fits onto the camper. I know each hookup will require at least one hose, so it is always where I need it, no matter how many hoses are ultimately used. Plus one time a friend helped me set up and put the regulator on the faucet and left it there on tear down.

Hi Herk, what was the rational behind removing the filter and replacing with 2 gal pressure tank? Or did you move the filter to another location, and does the pressure tank reduce the pump cycle events?

The filters are different folks. That's why the Camco inline doesn't reduce your water pressure. They both contain activated charcoal and that is used to reduce tastes and odors as well as chlorine. They both also have a mechanical filtering media in them that reduces sediment and has a micron rating. The Camco product is rated at 100 microns where as the filters in your camper may be as low as 10, 5, or even 1 micron. The lower the micron rating the better the filtration. However there is a trade off here. Lower micron filters will plug up faster because they are taking out very fine particles. Keep in mind that contact time is important for carbon filters. The longer the water is in contact with the carbon the better the filtration. I'm going to replace the filter on my new camper with a standard filter housing and purchase my filters from Walmart as it is a much less expensive way to go then buying them from the dealer. So as far as the Camco filters go, you get better water pressure but give up water quality.

low water pressure is what I remember him saying . and also to have more water flow in between water pump pulses .

while others have complained about water pressure I for one have not had an issue and in fact last night "before" I installed my water filter after sanitizing I had less pressure at my toilet then I did "with" the filter if that makes sense ?

A pressure tank won't raise the water pressure but it will reduce the on/off cycles of the pump.

Are you saying that you can put that filter on the hose on the outside of the RV and you can then drink the water that comes out of the tap? I drink a lot of water and was wondering how I could stock as much water as I drink. At home I have a Zero Water on my counter and fill it with the tap water and after it filters, I can drink that. With limited space on the counter, I was looking for another option, but if need be, I can just use the Zero Water in the RV too.
