Lightbulb Water Filter Bypass

Has anyone use/made something like this?

Winterizing ByPass Plate - Item - Camping World

If If can find some rubber (I have the sheet alum') I might make 1 up to install before I winterize my TT.

I use compressed air to winterize never antifreeze, it's too much of a pain in the butt. I have a lot of machine tools in my shop but I think it wouldn't be worth my time to try and cut a perfect circle from sheet metal to save the $8.00. I can just see the scene now. I would get all frustrated and PO'd and throw my tin snips out into the yard.

Only a couple of reviews, but both said the thing didn't work because it wouldn't make a tight seal.

I have thought of putting in an actual bypass like the one for the water heater. Based on the title of this thread, that's what I thought it would be about.

Anyone do that before?

(We need the head slapping emoticon)

Thanks guys for pointing out the obvious. I never thought to check the reviews (which I normally do).

I remove the water filter and let the RV anti-freeze flow through it.

Adding a bypass, as Willis stated, is a good idea.

This fall will be the 1st time I'll winterize the TT as it had already been done before I purchased the trailer. I didn't have any issues de-winterizing it this spring & I had winterized my popup.

Just a few more water outlets to check.

Well, I did it a little less difficult. I took an empty water bottle, the 16 oz size, filled it with sand, put the cap back on tightly, and put it in the filter canister. That took up most of the space in it so only a small amount of antifreeze went into it.
