Water filter removal

Is there a trick to removing the filter under the sink to winterize? I have a Rockwood Ultra Lite.I have a white handle thing but it is not budging at all. Any suggestions appreciated.

Make sure the water line is not pressurized. Turn off the city water and open a faucet. That usually helps.

It can be tough. Try to grab the wrench with one hand and the filter body with the other hand and apply force from both at the same time.

It may help to remove the water lines and get the white wrench as close as possible to the housing.

Make SURE there is ZERO pressure in the system! Can't be over emphasized.

Any time you remove the filter housing, run some food grade silicone grease on the O Rings of the housing and the filter.

I have never used the near useless plastic white wrench. I've always used strap wrench:
