Water Heater Bypass Valve?

I am de winterizing my 2010 Puma 31 BHSS for the first time and I am not sure what to do with the bypass valve on the water heater..There are three valves on the water heater, one on the cold water line going into the water heater, one on the hot water line leaving the hot water heater, and one on a line behind those two valves tying the hot and cold together...When I took of the panel to the hot water heater the valve on the cold water line going in and the valve on the hot water line leaving the water heater were turned off and the valve behind those two valves tying the hot and cold lines together was open!!!Now the question is,do I open the valves on the cold water line leading in and the hot water line leading out and then shut off the valve behind tying the hot and cold lines together??I am just not sure!!!

Yes, and flush very very well if you used antifreeze.
