Water heater - DSI fault

I have a 2017 Forest River a Vibe 268RKS . When I turned on the water heater switch I got a red light indicating it was turned on and then I got a smaller red light saying DSI fault . Any ideas ?
Thanks
Mike

Is there gas in your tank(s) and did you sloowly open the valves?
If you don't have an auto change regulator, did you switch it to the full tank?
Did you turn on your tanks, then light a stove burner for a minute or two to bleed the air from the lines?
Did you check the reset on the ECO/Hi-Temp Thermostat?
Is there insects or spiders at the orifice or in your burner tube?
Is the igniter/flame sense probes clean and the gap set properly?

If you have a Suburban WH you can download the service manual from the Library section of the forum. Look for WH_Service and Training Manual 5-18-11.pdf in the following link, Plumbing, Propane and Water Systems

Whenever you have a problem and need help, please give the make and model of the appliance.

I have the same year RV and quickly had DSI failure. If yours is the Suburban WH... look at the control board(mind laying on floor beside WH). I bet a $1 you will find a burned spot on it.

Little tip...Get a Dinosaur replacement

If you have a Suburban brand water heater (Forest River uses several brands), then this thread may help, as it fully explains the operation of the water heater. Post #5 explains the fault/reset lamp

I noticed that mine does that when I am plugged in to shore power and the switch for electric heating on the water heater itself is on. Turning on the inside switch, which is for gas, causes the DSI light to turn on in that situation.
