Water heater substitution

Hello all,

My water heater is probably on its last leg. It's 6-gallon Suburban heater, and I hear it's rather straight forward to replace it. My question is however: can one subtitute the current 6-gallon model for a 10-gallon model? Is the 10-gallon much bigger, or are the connections so different that you actually need a tech to install it?

Best regards,

Maurice

What’s worse than a box full of snakes?
A box that was SUPPOSED to be full of snakes.
