Water leaking at fresh water input
I connected my water hose to my tt 2012 Wildwood DLX for the first time since I bought it and it is leaking water right at the connection. I tried taking it off and back on a couple of times but still leaks. Any suggestions?

First thought is there should be a rubber washer inside the end of the hose. If it is missing ot damaged the connection will leak. Sorry if I am starting the obvious.

I should have mentioned that I did place a rubber washer inside the connection.

You don't attach the water hose to the FW tank fill, only to the city water connection and the black tank flush connection.
The FW tank fill is only threaded for the cap, not the male end of a hose.
Unless something has changed.

Sometimes the brass ends on supply hoses are cheaply made and distort easily,if not the hose the shore water supply assembly on the RV can be replaced without much difficulty or money! Youroo! !

It is connected to the city water connection, not the tank. There isn't a connection for the tank, just a cap.

Ditto - distortion of the male end of the hose has happened to me a couple of times over the 18+ years we've been RVing. Try another hose just to see if that may be the problem.

I've found that a 90 degree brass connector helps a lot and takes the distortion off the connector.

Yep - good thought. I use one since the hose comes up through the bottom of the wet bay.

I had a similar situation last year and found out the connector was damaged when I blew out the system. Forgot to reduce the air pressure on my compressor. Changed it out this spring and all is good!

Yep, me too. Suggested by the repairman who replaced the original inlet fitting when it sprung a leak.
I realized that the reason it's better was I no longer had the inlet hose pulling down on an arm of 6 to 8 inches, just the 1 and a bit of the brass fitting. A real forehead slap moment.
Cheers

I had this problem earlier this summer. Mine had one rubber washer in place but I had lost the rubber washer with the screen. I bought a 3 pack of the washer with screens at WM for $1.50, put one in and problem solved. I figured when i had unhooked water hose the last camping trip, the washer with the screen stuck to the hose and I dropped it and didn't notice. Trick is the two washers.

Not all rubber washers for hose connections are made equally! You need a soft washer that you can compress on easily. Check the brass on the hose for any burrs or sharp edges that can cut into a hose washer and cause it to leak. Go for a soft rubber. You can feel the difference. Check to make sure the connections are square. If you miss a thread, it may look like the connection is securely made but that is not always the case.

This is absolutely true.
When I bought my TT new in 2013, it dripped at the city water connection. I later bought those 90 degree elbows and haven't had a leak since except for a worn rubber washer/screen that I replaced last week.

The best threads are the ones where the OP comes back and states the solution.

If the male ends is distorting, I would suggest putting a short cutoff valve on the end of you hose.

I have rigged my city water inlet with a quick connect fitting and a 4 foot jumper hose. This eliminates any garden hose screw on fittings within the wet bay area.
