Water leaking out of black hose when hooked to city water

I have a 2017 Cherokee 304r, when i hook to city water, the water comes out of the black hose underneath. Also I emptied the fresh water tank and hooked into city water and it refilled the tank. Am i doing something wrong?

What black hose? Pics are more helpful, as I don't have a black hose under my TT.
Your water pump check valve is possibly stuck.
Is this trailer new to you?

I do believe that the check valve is stuck. The black hose usually only leaks when i overfill the fresh water tank. Not to mention the fresh water tank was empty when i turn on the city water now the tank is full again.

Common problem. One would think the makers of the water pumps would have fixed it by now, but nooo.

Black tank valve

If on the road, you can get a twist-on supplement valve. It will solve your problem until time to fix.

While it hasn't been clarified by the OP... I don't believe the problem is at the sewer port. (black pipe)

I believe they have a black pipe (hose/tubing) hanging down under the R/V that is the overflow for the fresh tank and water is coming out of it. They mentioned the fresh tank filling so that's why all the suggestions for the pump's check valve.

To the OP... can you clarify for sure?

Always posting as much information as possible and answering the questions asked (see bikendan's post # 2 asking about the hose) will help you get your issues resolved with the least amount of guessing on our part.
