Water pressure

I installed a new surflo 4008 because the old one had what I thought was bad water pressure and really loud. This one is quiter but water pressure starts good but get bad quickly as you can see in the video. This is my first camper so maybe this is the normal pressure.

Also I have been trying to figure out the size of my holding tanks, anyone know where I can find this? Google has been no help.

Travel Trailer is a 2006 cardinal 35 ft (non fifth wheel ) with two side outs.

Thank you!

Seems all the bumper pull models have 41 gal fresh and 3 x 40 gal waste water tanks.

Pressure looks about normal to me. The pressure will never be like your house.

If it's only in kitchen, look at your kitchen faucet hose underneath counter if it is kinked near the faucet base.

That seems to be pretty pitiful to me.

Do you have a 'whole house' type filter somewhere in the rig that could be blocking flow?

Have you tried removing the outlet hose at the new pump to see what pressure you have there? Maybe you have a kink in the suction side of the pump and it is not getting the proper supply? Have you checked to see if the suction side is sucking air? (screen) If you have a winterization valve, maybe it isn't fully in the proper position for summer use and the pump is starving for water or sucking air there?

I'll check those things, not sure where all the valves are yet but will do some digging around.

Most R/V type water pumps are in the 45-55 psi range and I believe 55 psi is the spec for the one you mentioned. (cheaper ones are lower, more expensive ones higher) That just doesn't seem like 55 psi in the video.

remove the flow-restrictor from the aerator. That will give you a LITTLE more flow.

One thing others use is run the city water and fresh water pump. You will get more pressure that way, also. Of course, you'll need fresh water in the fresh water tank to do that.

I've done this at a couple of campgrounds and it works very well. If the freshwater level gets low, just use your filtered input to fill it back up.

I was under the impression from some other threads that you should not run the FW pump (even with water in the tank) when hooked up to city water. Was I mistaken?

BTW if you have a water pressure regulator and it's not adjustable, those are usually set to 40psi from the factory.

If you don't want to do it, no problem. It works for me and works for others.

Up there with towing with the propane on for the refrigerator, towing something that is 100 lbs above your tow vehicle's GVWR, etc. If you don't think it is good, don't do it.

I have not tried booking it to city water yet. Only the water from the pump. I'm taking it to a full hookup site tomorrow so I can dump tanks and change out the grey and black tank release valves. Also to check the ac.

What size fresh water hose do you use? If you are using 1/2" move up to 5/8". If you using a Y at the spigot, take it off. Those are the two areas that restrict flow. Lastly, you can get a more expensive pressure regulator that reduces the pressure without reducing the water flow that much.

So I hooked the city water up and the water pressure is fine. So it's just low from the pump for some reason. I have the pump up to 55 psi.
