I installed the ecocamel shower head this past weekend. It made an amazing difference. Thanks for the recommendation.

You can't tell how well the factory installed water line fittings, so I believe you're much safer never going over 40psi.

I bumped up to 50psi last year on my adjustable regulator, no problems. Much better showers and such. I definitely would not go any higher.

One of my recommendations to a new owner would be to cinch up the fittings just a little. I forgot to put on my pressure regulator the first time camping and my fittings behind the connection panel started leaking. Those and the ones under the sinks are where I'd tighten a bit.

I'm running on 55psi now.

All my clamps are pex style, you can't tighten anything up. FIVE connections in my wet bay started to leak (I think that was all of them)after first year, at lower pressure. Had to cut off clamps and hose ends, then re-clamp with new PEX clamps. That was before I bumped up to 50 psi on the regulator.

No cutting required if you have a screwdriver:

You can also use needle nose or diagonal cutter pliers.

Just release end of band from the "barb".

Easy peasy and no risk of damage.

If using a PEX ratchet style plier set, make sure it's properly adjusted for secure clamping. The one I purchased came with a calibration tool.

I had no luck at at all getting OEM clamps off with needle nose or dykes. I gave up and used cut off wheel on my Dremel tool with surgical precision!

I wouldn't worry even if you did go higher.

Factory test is supposed to be 80-100 psi using air or water. My guess is that they use air so they don't have to worry about water in system while unsold units are sitting in freezing temps over the winter.

Problem with using only air is there is no "leak indicator" unless you "soapy water" each and every connection.

Water dripping is a good indicator.

If I wanted to be absolutely sure my system was "tight" I'd crank up the regulator to 60-70 psi and then look for leaks. Correct as necessary then crank your regulator back down to a "Nice Shower" pressure.

If I recall correctly most water pumps are set at the manufacturer's plant for 50-55 PSI.

That's good info. Thanks for sharing.
