Water pump overheating.

First time dry camping, using my water pump, Artis PDS1-130-1240E.
Pump pressurizes line and shuts off like normal. But later it would not turn on, checked pump and it was hot. Shut it off, let it cooled down and would work again until it got hot. Electrical problem? Bad pump???

Sounds like the pressure switch isn't actually opening and the motor is still trying to run and gets hot and shuts off.

Can you hear if there's a hum coming from the motor when it appears to shut down?

Sounds like it isn't actually shutting off but rather running until the thermal overload switch cuts out.

As Bama mentioned, maybe the pressure switch isn't working. They are usually built into the head of the pump. You might check the voltage through the pressure switch and if not opening, pull a wire off the pressure switch (when pressure builds) and see if that stops the pump.

There's no hum coming from the motor.
Will check the voltage through the pressure switch this weekend.
Thanks
