Is the nipple welded into the tank broken, or is it the fitting?

If it's the nipple, you may be able to get a blind bulkhead fitting and ream the hole out and put the bulkhead in it's place. Blind Bulkhead Fittings

If it's the welded nipple and you can't get a bulkhead fitting in there, then you'll likely have to replace the tank. Those nozzles are spun welded into the tank wall, and there's almost no glue that will stick to the plastic.

that blind fitting looks like it would be just what you need! cut off the broken threads on your tank and see if there is a fitting that will fit the existing hole.

Think I would call the company and ask some specific questions. From the website linked above (The BBTF is machined from solid 360 brass and utilizes a flexible PVC sealing grommet (not designed for flammable liquids or potable water). Just don't want someone getting poisoned.

Sure looks like a great idea tho.

It's a .pdf. You have to open it to view it. I saw it but I couldn't tell if the nipple or the fitting was broken.

From as clean as it looks, this unit might still be under warranty, if so, have you talked with your dealer?

Received from
Officially, our Bulkhead Blind Tank Fittings (BBTF) are machined from 360 solid brass (note: the newer 1" BBTF are Stainless Steel) and utilize a FPVC sealing grommet. The NSF61 law that went into effect January of 2014 changed the classification of 360 Brass and no longer recognizes 360 Brass for use with Potable water. Based on this we currently do not support our BBTF's being utilized in potable water situations.

That's been our official statement since January of 2014. Because of that, we have not done the NSF61 testing on the sealing grommet either. As noted above the sealing grommet is made from Flexible PVC which is generally considered safe however since we have not specifically tested it we need to state it is not designed for potable water.

If you would like to discuss further, feel free to call me on my cell at 847 767-4917.
Happy RVing,
Greg

Note: 360 brass was considered safe for potable water up until January of 2014 and used in all your brass plumbing, valves, etc.
