Water Tank Valve Installation

To prepare for a long road trip, I emptied my fresh water tank by removing the drain plug to lighten the load. I am wanting to replace the plug with a 1/4 turn valve so I don't have to crawl under the trailer to do this for every trip.
Is this a good idea or not? Has anyone else done this and were there any problems such as the valve wearing and leaking, or vibrating loose while on the road and leaking?

Thanks in advance for any comments.

I have done it on the last two RV's. I used pex fittings, valves and tubing and haven't had a problem with it vibrating loose or leaking a drop.

It's nice to just reach under the RV and open the valve instead of having to get out the tools to drain the tank.
