Water Taste

The water in my travel trailer has an unpleasant taste both when hooked up to outside water and when using the fresh water tank. I've done the sanitization thing with bleach and flushed it with clean water but the taste is still there. Any thoughts on how to remove it?

How long did you leave the bleach water in the lines??? Add the bleach water to your fresh water tank and then use the water pump to fill all the lines just like you are winterizing it. Leave it in for a day or 2 then flush it out. I had the same problem when I bought my TT. Water had been left in the lines and it really smelled and tasted bad. I had to do the bleach treatment twice before it went away. The worst thing was the pullout kitchen faucet rubber hose. If you have one also make sure no water sits in that hose when not using the TT.

There are Many types and kinds just for Taste,as well as Micron sizes! Lots of Members filter incoming water that is going into the F/W tank and direct supply! They also add a Drinking /Cooking filter in the kitchen! There have been LOTs of Posts, please do a Search at Top of page! Youroo!!

Adding baking soda to about 10 gallons of fresh water helped the taste a little bit. We just use a 5 gallon jug of water from home for cooking and drinking.

Beer on Cheerios is an acquired taste. After the 1st bowl, who cares ( about anything). 😉

Filter

Most all campground water really tastes horrible. Buy yourself an in-line RV water filter that attaches right on the end of your water hose. They are cheap on Ebay and last about 1 whole season.

We usually drink bottled water, but if I do drink from the rig, it's through the fridge dispenser. The water filter in that is removes just about everything. Will take the pink out of the antifreeze.

Are you using a food grade water hose or a regular rubber garden hose?
Also try putting a carbon filter in your filter housing.

No idea, but we opted for a Berkey Water filter. Previously, I didn't trust campground water and we would buy 10-12 gallons of water a week. Now we filter it ourselves and it's crisp and clean.
