Water valve at hook up spraying

Hi. I hook up my hose to the water hook up and when I turn the water on it sprays out of a valve in the wall. Help please

It is coming out from behind the plate that has the city water or gravity feed

Could be the water pressure from the source is to high and is blowing through your valve? Do you have a pressure regulator??

Check at fitting where hose hooks to camper. Most have cone shaped screen with rubber seal. Could be jammed up or missing. Similar to yard hose but has screen

Lol. I certainly could do something like that! I think the pressure reducer might be bad if that can happen.

Most pedestal water hookups have a backflow valve on them. There's a pin that sticks out..... so if your hose or pressure regulator has a screen on it, it's stopping you from getting a good seal. I learned this the hard way. Again, pics would help.
