( WaterPur CCI-5-CLW12 ) water filter housing split in two - easy on the road fix

This week i had a water filter housing split and empty the full load of water from my tank into my trailer while i was out walking. Here's an easy fix you can do without replacement parts. I simply removed the filter assembly (4 philips screws) and then removed the inlet water nipple (plastic fitting that goes from the screw on collar into the filter body) and just used this little fitting to connect the inlet and outlet lines together - essentially bypassing the filter and using the small plastic nipple to connect both lines together. All repairs completed with a Leatherman multi-tool. No teflon tape needed as there are rubber gaskets inside each water line. See images below

Thumbs up

A big thanks mate Between spending ~40 bucks for a new one or knowing I also have to crawl thru the crawl space twice a year were not happy prospects. This solves both easily. Thanks again. I was also considering purchasing re-mounting it sideways. RV is mainly an extra bedroom at home so always on our well water.
