What is this handle for? Pics attached

2019 XLR Nitro 36VL5

I am perplexed. What is the handle underneath my slide for?

I am having drain problems in my kitchen sink and wondered if i had a separate waste water tank although i cannot find anything that says i do. Believed it was a venting issue but camper has a external vent on side direct to kitchen sink The camper has washer Dryer hook ups but do not use them so that made me wonder if this handle is a drain for it.

I had a travel trailer with two grey tanks so you are probably correct that it is the drain for the kitchen grey tanks. You should have two grey tank readouts on your sensor panel.

I have pulled it and cannot hear any fluid release. I do have two separate read outs and of course it says full. I wonder if the handle isn't working...

Did you crawl under your trailer and follow the rod to the other end? There probably is a cap on the output pipe that would need to be removed first. I don't have your brand trailer but it definitely looks like a drain handle so whatever it is should be fairly obvious.

The camper is a Forest River XLR 36VL5 Nitro toy hauler. I have crawled underneath but it is completely covered and is not visible with out removing the bottom panel. i guess i need to drop the panel down?

So that handle disappears into the underbelly of the trailer? No obvious outlets anywhere? Yeah just out of curiosity I would somehow try to peak in the area the handle goes through the coroplast and see whats on the other end. It must control something , right?

shouldn't need to drop the panel look around for another outlet like you hook your sewer hose to . also when you pulled it were you hooked up to sewer no cap on the outlet or on the new sewer hose

Could be that you have another outlet, I did on my travel trailer. Also the handle could be disconnected at the valve. Can you follow the rod attached to the handle?

and you were hooked up to the sewer ? fist time dumping ? maybe handle to valve come loose which mean you need to access valve where handle goes in . or i have seen this fist time people use their RV sewer dump hook o new sewer hose and forget to take the plug off sewer hose first . some sewer hoses come with a plug you put in place when not using and they are installed when new . Had a person do just that once wondered why his tanks were not dumping ,pulled the sewer hose to find the cap in place .

Did you check on the other side of the camper? They don't all have to be on the same side.

On my 2013 Crusader 260 RLD, it has 1 black and 2 grey tanks. Inside meter is labeled black, grey and galley. The galley one is for the kitchen sink. All three drain through the same 4" pipe to the sewer. The galley tank valve handle is in a similar location as the one you are referencing. The grey and black are in the wet bay like yours.

A simple test to determine whether this valve feeds into your known gray tank drain line.

Open both the gray tank drain and this handle's unknown drain. Have a helper pour a couple gallons of water down the kitchen sink while you are outside looking / listening for water exiting thru the hose. If you hear water, try this again with that unknown handle valve closed. If you do not hear water, you know there is a galley tank and that this valve controls it.

We have a washer dryer hook up that we do not use and we have two gray tanks. It turns out one gray tank is dedicated to only the washer drain. It never gets any water in it that needs to be drained. Yours could be the same. To verify put a hose down the washer drain pipe and run water slowly. See if it come out with that handle open!

I don't have a trailer like yours (two grey tanks) but if you really do only have one sewer connection point then I would think that yes, you might need to pull both grey water handles to get the 2nd tank to drain.

Looking at the bottom picture it looks like that was an add on. Maybe the original cable was in the convenience center and broke or somehow messed up and the previous owner or a dealer added that rather than tearing off the coroplast to run a new cable assembly to the convenience center. Follow that cable under and it may take you to the valve.
I would suggest that you get a clear adapter so you can visually see the tanks draining something like this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...e?ie=UTF8&th=1
