What is this valve??

I just bought a 2014 Salem Hemisphere 276RK on consignment, so no owners manual...

I need to know what the 'extra' valve is for in my water system (see pic).

I see the water heater bypass, but there is an extra hose with a valve underneath, and a hose next to that with a cap (maybe the overfill hose?).

Thanks!Click image for larger version

Go to your aps. Download the Forrest River ap and you can get the manual for your. Rig. I did that for my Flagstaff. It is much handier than the paper version.

To answer your question, the valve is part of the bypass for putting the RV anti-freeze into the system, The hose with the cap can be pulled out and remove the cap and stick it into the gallon jug of anti-freeze, turn the pump on and start one faucet at a time running until you see the anti-freeze. Remember the hot water heater must be turned off and drained by itself. The manual will give you a step by step for this. Also under the trailer near the entrance should be a red and a blue capped hose for a low point drain.
The valve cuts off the water supply from the onboard tank so the hose with the cap will be the suction from the pump.

I have already downloaded the 'manual' from forest river and it was no help with this situation.

Here's a pic of RV plumbing that will cover a majority of RV's. (I did have to just add a note regarding your single suction valve and AF connection cap, though. First time I've seen/heard of that.)

It's 2 pages long.
