I always laugh when people say they don't use this or that in their RV's...

Reminds me of when I was a kid and my grandmother always had cookies in the cookie jar...but wouldn't let us at them.

She was always saving them for something...obviously not her grandkids!

As for the camper...

I bought it to use it...and everything in it!

I'm with you, and for what I paid for my Trailer I intend on using everything in it a lot.

So in the middle of the night at 3AM you make people get dressed and run to the restroom? What is wrong with this picture?

If I was a guest spending the night in his trailer I know ONE rule that would get broken.

With the amount of money I just spent buying this thing, I'm pooping in the TT!

I really wish I had seen this thread earlier today. It would have saved me 20 minutes standing in the stinky isle at camping world trying to determine what product was best for me. In the end my wife went with what smelled best to her.

Just curious about the reasoning behind this rule. Why did you decide to go this route?

I don't get the no poo/no pee thing nor the used TP in a bag, next to the toilet. 🤯
But some people are phobic, about black water and dealing with it.
Reminds me of when I was a kid and many women had plastic covers on the furniture.
But having worked in hospitals and being a retired firefighter/EMT, I've been around a lot of nasty stuff.
So dealing with black water pales in comparison.

Buddy of mine bought a rig last year. They had been tent campers. DW was tired of the late night walks. He calls it his $18,000 toilet.

Sure got quiet here.
No one want to talk about the POOP anymore?

Well here is a little video I found on YouTube and how this guy cleans his black tank.

Im talking about the mom and pop campgrounds that treat their own waste. Chemicals definitely do effect the bacteria in their systems. Not to mention wet wipes clogging up the macerater equipment.

I switched to Dometic 3 in 1 a few years ago. Have had great success with it and love how it cleans the inside of the bowl.

If this guy would first turn on the cleanout (helps to clear the nozzle of debris) then open the dump valve and let drain till it slows down to the cleanout flow and then close the drain and allow the black tank to fill then open the drain with the cleanout still running, close the drain and be done with it. Let the cleanout run for a few seconds to put water back in the tank. He utilized 5+ minutes at each step and that is 15+ minutes. In that time the tank would have almost filled back up before dumping the second (last time) time. The tank will be clean and the tank level indicator will read empty. No, don't walk away while cleaning out the black tank.

They all work fine, unless you poo concrete. Dump regular, even if your not exactly regular, and your golden brown

I just use a shot of bleach and a good squeeze of dawn. And a lot of water. A Johnny chock or whatever they call them. That's it

I used the orange stuff for over a decade. TST/Camco/whatever. It is an odour reducer, nothing more. When I dumped, there was plenty of RV toilet paper, and solids, visible. I did have one blockage, that fortunately was remedied by driving to the next RV park (10hrs away). However I switched to Happy Campers 2 months ago, and the change is drastic. It really breaks the solids and paper down, very few visible. We even switched from RV paper to septic safe Charmin. Fantastic product, although we have not used it in temps over 75 F yet. Im feeling pretty confident though.
