Winterizing Questions

So I will be doing winterizing myself this year for the first time. Found low point drains for hot and cold water, but stumbled upon this. What is this? This is at the front of the trailer where my fresh water tank is. What do I do with this? There is a valve and another hose. I'm assuming the hose is overflow for the tank? What is that valve for?

I'm not familiar with your trailer but it seems that if that's below the fresh water tank it would lead me to believe that it's the fresh water tank drain and the other hose would be the over flow.

Thank you for the reply. One more question. I understand that these systems are tied together somehow, city and tank connection. If I turn on the pump and start pumping antifreeze will the antifreeze start coming out from my city water connection? Do I need to plug it or something? Is there a check valve? So the water/antifreeze won't start coming out the city water hookup?

It should not come out of the city water connection.

When you pump antifreeze you will have to turn the valve that is in line with the fill hose. Nothing will go into your city or your tank.

Hose with the valve is FW tank drain. Hose with no valve is FW overfill. You also will find Low point drains. Red and blue with valves. used to drain water lines before antifreeze fill.

Technically, what is being called overfill/overflow hose is actually the vent for the fresh water holding tank. It of course will let you know when the tank is full. Some vent hoses have a mesh screen covering the opening so nothing gets lodged in it to disrupt venting. Just some info.

Vent line is right next to the gravity fill port. The line hanging down is the overflow.

Will assume you know this, but don't forget to bypass the water heater. And remove the water filter is element if you have one.

I thought his unit has hose connection and did not have gravity fill. Guess I thought wrong.
