Winterizing with Compressed air just until freeze is over

Hi Friends, a couple days of below freezing temps here in Illinois. I am still staying in my camper and only want to temporarily blow out the lines, leave the water in hot water tank. I have heated tanks and elbows and covered underbelly. I am taking water filter out and draining the water there and bypassing the water heater and leaving the plug in. Will this be ok ya think? I also am draining the water at my low spot lines, cold and hot. I have seen different ways to do this, do you open the faucets first or after applying air pressure?

Leave the taps closed and then pressurize. Then you can open taps and flush toilets one at a time till water stops coming out. If you leave everything open you have no control over what is being blown out. Just make sure you regulate the pressure. You do not want to over do the pressure, I do about 30 lbs.

Do not have a closed system when you pressurize unless you can dial the pressure down to 40psi, otherwise you risk popping some fittings. Leave one faucet open, pressurize and follow procedures discussed here many times in related threads.

I wouldn't advise it in the "Chibera" area. I know the temps haven't fallen that low yet. But this is your baby and the more you work the winterizing list the better yo will get. Make a list and then perfect it for you. I caqn and so can ole' coot dogs work through the list in a couple of hours. Have you seen the commerical about auto insurance with the giant toddler sitting on an auto lift? Its your baby....

Thanks everyone.. Next week it will be in the low 20s, so preparing to drain system and blow it out. Not to cold yet but just getting ready. We will be here in Springfield IL area until Dec 5th. I do not expect it to get below low 20s at night and be in the 40s during day. Should be ok I hope until then. And then on to Texas...
