I have a 2004 cardinal 5th wheel, at a permanent site, the 12 volt battery cut off switch is currently in the off position, every time its put on, an unknown alarm goes off, what is this and what do i need to do.

the battery was low, but i thought i had to have it switched on for the battery to be charged while plugged in to get charged, is that not the case? maybe i should charge and try turning it on. Im new to this and learning,

It sounds like your battery may be dead or discharged enough to cause a significant voltage drop to the CO detector when turned on, even if the unit is hooked to shore power.

There should be a button on the CO detector that allows it to be silenced. Do so and let the battery(s) charge (if they will) with the battery switch turned on.

If it is a continuous alarm the battery is likely low.

If it beeps once, there may be nothing wrong.

My last R/V (SOB, some other brand) I had the cut-off switch set up to turn EVERYTHING off, including the LP/Carbon Monoxide sensor.

When powering up the 12v system, the Carbon Monoxide sensor would go through a self test and beep once before going into operation mode.
