2005 FR Sierra 5th wheel no DC power
We have a stationary setup in a campground for when we don’t want to pull our Imagine travel trailer. The other day, I was trying to level it up a little and when I hit the switch on the hydraulics pump it tripped a breaker (or something). Now I have no DC once the battery died. Shore power is fine but obviously nothing works since the devices don’t “see” to DC to allow them to start. Fuses and breakers look ok inside. I’m thinking I tripped an inline circuit breaker somewhere but I can’t find it. Any help would be appreciated.

there is probably some square shaped 12v breakers near your battery
follow the battery cables... they won't be far away
press little tiny button on the breaker to reset
looks like these https://www.amazon.com/RKURCK-Circui...l%2C115&sr=1-3
other possibles are..
battery disconnect switch is no good
TRY...
disconnect the battery
Turn on shore power
make sure CONVERTER breaker is on
The converter (battery charger) will power all your 12v stuff no need a battery
IF your lights, waterpump or other 12v stuff does NOT work on shore power
there are 2 FUSES on the converter or fuse panel (depends on your model)
make sure they are good

Thanks! I’ve searched for an inline breaker in or near the battery compartment but can’t find on or anything that resembles it. That would have been my first thought. Unless I get lucky, I guess I’ll need to pull out the power panel and see what I can find.

The converter does not appear to be working. After the incident with the hydraulic pump, the camper ran on battery until it died. Shore power was working fine. Is there a way to reset it?

Moved thread from the General Community Discussion section to the Electrical and Charging Systems sub-forum since the OP's questions are specific to that sub-forum and not general questions.

Make sure you flip the AC breaker for your converter off and on to make sure it is on. There is another 12v in line fuse between the converter and the batteries, mine is not resettable it's an ANL type.

Don't do this. There's nothing back there to find. No connections or elements, just wires.
Here's a checklist. - Get plugged into shore power or generator.
- Take off the front cover of the power center so you have access to terminals. (Two screws at top corners, then lift up and out.)
- Turn the 120 Vac circuit breaker labelled CONV or Converter all the way off, then all the way on. Do you now have 12 Vdc on camper lights and fans?
- If not, measure AC voltage between the terminal screw on the CONV circuit breaker and the Neutral bus (place where all the white wires come together) If there's no voltage, check at the main breaker, If no voltage there, problem is at the pedestal or power cord (turn pedestal breaker off and on)
- If there is voltage going to the converter, set your meter to DC 20 volts and go to the fuse distribution board. There will be two heavy Ground cables, tied together, and two positive battery cables that are separate. One of the two goes to the converter and one goes to the fuses. In a good system, both have 12 Vdc, measured against the Ground cables. One of the two goes to the trailer battery. The other cable goes to the converter. Measure at each of these two points and let us know what you find.

We are going back to the campground today. I’ll check out what you recommend and let you know. I appreciate the help!

This is a nearly 20 year old system. Could be anything.
This is a 4 hour testing cleaning thing with likely a new something.
Typically a tech inspects connections. In the panel tighten all screws. Clean battery connections. Voltmeter everything.
Do not take distractions with you to do the search.
I always start with the battery and converter.
Not hard. Just a lot of effort.

My eureka moment! After checking virtually everything, I pulled loose the fuse panel and found a scorched wire on the back side of the white battery terminal. I cut it back to have a clean connection and tightened it down good. Everything works as it should now. Thanks for all the great suggestions!
