2500W Dual Fuel Inverter Gen cover?

Bought a champion 2500W inverter dual-fuel generator for both home and camping, because I can lift the 39 lbs. Manual says not to use in rain or snow, but at home that's the time I most likely need it. I see all kinds of generator covers advertised, and have read all the forum Qs about them I can find.

Still a question: All the gen covers I've researched fit fairly closely and are mostly made of flammable fabric. So is the manual admonition to leave a minimum of 5' clearance all around the generator just a CYA statement, so the pro-made covers, like the attached, are actually safe?

Yes, as long as the exhaust side flap is open.

Probably a good idea to have an opening on both ends as this is where the "inverter" is located and it needs cooling air.

I have a Champion 2500w inverter gen although not dual fuel and know it does need good cooling air circulation.

If you're worried about the cover rather than the inverter, you could spray that fabric with something like BanFire.

You could also plug in a small portable fan into the compressor to dissipate heat and fumes.

I bought a $30 2-man pup tent to keep ours out of the rain. Exhaust points straight back, with gen just inside door. Can close front flaps half way to keep gen dry
