2nd battery with an inverter

Hi everyone, I finally got my replacement inverter in my 2017 Vibe 268rks after a month plus long hassle . I would like to add a second battery and I know they have to be wired in parallel but I’m not totally sure how to connect the wires coming from the trailer onto the existing battery . Is there some method or rule to follow when you have an inverter ? Also the battery I have now is only 2 weeks old so I think if I buy one today it should be fine .
Thanks
Mike

When wiring two 12 volt batteries in parallel it's positive to positive, negative to negative.

Then, connect the frame ground cable to one negative terminal and connect the cable that feeds the trailer power panel to the positive terminal at the opposite corner.

This equalizes the effect of different power path distances in the battery combination.
