30 Amp Ford F150

The just announced F150 has an optional 30amp service which they advertise as negating the need for contractors to carry a generator. That made me think. Why not wire 120 to your rig and charge a lithium battery bank during your moves and run your fridge on 120v when driving. Then you might only need a small suitcase panel to keep you topped off. In addition, you can run your AC plugged into the truck. Sure you are running a big engine for a little power but honestly, I don't use my AC much as I move when it gets hot.

Something like that isn't in my near future because I'm not in the market for a new truck but it is just a thought.

Correction: Options are 20 amp 120v and 30 amp 240v.

...Power is accessible through in-cabin outlets and up to four cargo bed-mounted 120-volt 20-amp outlets, with a 240-volt 30-amp outlet on the 7.2-kilowatt version. The system even provides power on the move to charge tool batteries in between jobs.
