30 Amp Portable Surge Protector

All, I have a Progressive 30 Amp Portable EMS with Integrated Display. When I plug it in I am not getting any errors after the startup run through. Problem I am having is I have no power when I plug in my shore power line. I am not seeing any reset on it..do I need a new one or am I missing something?

Thanks,
Susan

Are the breakers in your Rockwood switched to 'ON'? If so have you tried to reset them?

Does the EMS have a digital display showing voltage and amperage and if so, is it reading normal.? I am guessing shore power for camper works without the EMS on it?

Yes I can plug in straight into the shore power and it works...just worries me after reading all the horror stories on here.

Ok....went back and read the directions (novel idea I know...) seems it takes about 2:30 minutes before power comes on. I guess this was the first time I did not plug the surge protector in first then go get my shore line. Lesson learned...

I put in the portable unit a few weeks ago. The peace of mind is worth the price. Got a really good chain lock and if anybody wants it they are going to have to work for it. Then I will find them and they will be my new surge protector!

When I first plug mine in there is a red warning light on the front, after it goes thru the test cycle about
(90 to 120 seconds) then a green light comes on and if the read out looks good I can plug the trailer in.

My TRC surge protector has a two minute 16 second delay to start. And if you hi/low voltage and it shuts down again 2min 16 sec. delay after the power is corrected. This help the A/C to drain down to prevent damage. If anyone need one, I'll have a 30 amp TRC surge protector at the Goshen garage sale.

Ignore this question. It is irrelevant since I bought another brand entirely. I bought the TRC 30 amp unit, it seems very popular here. Popularity among knowledgeable users seems like the best endorsement I could ask for.

I bought a TRC 50 hard wired for .my 5er. I was priced better than others but it's not American made. On my hardwired there is a digital readout option to plug in.

CampingDixieDogs, did you ever resolve your problem? I'll be testing mine out in a few weeks. Headed to a campground with shore power. Let me know if I can do any testing for you, I think I just bought the same system.

When I'm doing any task that needs to wait for the "next step" to continue, like waiting between coats of paint etc., I go and do something unrelated, like setting up the awning. The time goes much quicker that way. Hang in there. At that point you are on your camp site let the relaxation begin!
