7 pin issue

Have an issue when I plug my trailer into tow vehicle my right brake light stays on and no other lights work.. I've tested the trailer and everything checks out ok . So I have moved on to tow vehicle . Started testing pins and I have power to top 4 pins for some unknown reason ? Any thoughts

Possible internal corrosion in plug? How old is it, got a boat you put in the water a lot?

Year old and have pulled plug apart and no corrosion noted.. Showing 13.6 volts on top 4 pins when only one should have power without brake pressed or blinker on.

I am sure you have a diagram, if not here is one.

Sounds like something is shorted somewhere. Either in the plug or back towards the engine bay.

Not sure if you found your problem but I had some issues similar and it ended up being a controller under the dash.
This is my post:

Good luck

New controller on order from Curt. When I pulled the old one out it was warped from heat and cracked so I'm assuming this should correct the issue I'm having. Thanks for all the help.
