7500 watt generator.
I have a 2014 Forest River Crusader 360BHS. Myself and two buddies are taking trip from Thursday to Sunday in a couple months. The place we are going is pretty much a parking lot they are allowing campers to park on so there are no hook ups. We do get a portajohn with our entrance fee so that is good. My question is will a 7500 watt generator run both my ac units at the same time. I think they will but if anyone has done it I would like to hear about it. Thanks.

7500 watts / 120 volts = 62.5 amps.
Each A/C will pull less than 15 amps.
You’ll be fine.

I don't think you'll be be able to hear anything, with a generator that loud.[emoji33]

It’s really not that loud. It’s loud but not as loud as you would think.

My Briggs and Stratton home gasoline generator in that power range is about one degree less annoying than a leaf blower. When the power goes out at home, you can barely hear it inside though if doors/windows are all closed. On pavement through the thin walls of an RV....I think I would rather sweat than listen to that thing drone on and on.

theoretically yes it will run both. with two a/c's i'm assuming you have a 50 amp trailer. and it appears you have not connected the generator to the trailer before. if there was a concern it would be how the 50 amp rv cord connects to the generator. is there proper receptacle on the generator for the 50 amp cable? or are there a pair of 30 amp receptacles on the generator? you may be fine but hook it up at home before the trip and verify that it will run both a/c's.

A 50a shore power service is 6000w on EACH leg. (12,000w total)
A 7500w generator will be marginal but should be OK to run BOTH A/Cs at the same time with some power management.
Make sure you have the proper connection to utilize the full wattage of the generator.
Not all generator outlets are created the same and provide the full wattage.

A parking lot, with a porta-potti, with buddies, Thursday through Sunday, "in a few months", sounds like a NASCAR race fan RV lot.
Racing makes a lot of noise but be polite with your RV neighbors when running what sounds like a construction site generator.

Sounds like a open frame construction generator. You will not have many friends if you plan to run more than a few hours during the day.

I think you will be fine power wise if that is what you plan on running. You wont be able to run everything at the same time (electric water heater or microwave). The two ACs should be fine with that size as long as they both don't start at the same exact time and even then you may not have a problem.
If you have a hardwired EMS you will want to test before you get there or learn how to bypass it. Most generators require an N-G plug to function and some generate an irregular sine wave that will trip the EMS.

If that is a contractor/construction type generator, you need to verify the outlet is an RV type dual 120 volt, not 220/240 volts!

Close but not a race. It’s a motorcycle rally at a drag strip. I have a 30 amp to 50 amp plug. Seen below. My plan was to start one ac at a time. The only other thing being run would be a few lights. No water heater. Might try the fridge but we got coolers

If that is the adapter you plan to use and the generator twist-lock outlet is only rated at 30a then you will be hard pressed to run BOTH A/C units at one time since you are now going to be limited by the 30a outlet.
That's the thing with the ratings on most open frame/contractor type generators... they may have a 30a plug rated for 3600w and a couple 15a plugs rated at 1800w each and COMBINED they will give the generator a 7500w rating... BUT... you are not getting it ALL out of one plug.

X2! That's a 30a to 50a adapter. The business side (generator side) is still only 30a & that's all you're going to get.
Also, you should be using an inverter style generator for "clean pure sine wave" power. This is preferred to protect the electronics in the RV such as sound systems, fridge circuitry, microwave circuitry, converter etc. Most open frame "contractor style" generators are not inverter generators. They're fine for running power tools & such but, not meant for delicate electronics.

The generator is a dual 120/240. I and sitting in the camper with both AC’s running good and cold with all the lights on inside the camper. I am using the 50 to 30 amp adapter for the generator. It has been running for 30 min and is not even at 50% load on the generator.

Looking at your adapter, it appears that it is a 4 prong at the male end. If that. Is the case, I’m pretty sure you have 2 30 amp hot legs that could be used as a 240 volt with the right kind of connector. The adapter lets it work as 2 120 volt legs for the rv. Jay

RV types are also 240V with a neutral. Its just the configuration of the outlet that will be the issue. They typically are different.
