Our Rpod batteries charge at home and in the campsite, but apparently discharge in 2 or 3 hours while towing. Any idea why this is happening?

Yep. You need to check the charging pin, in the tow vehicle's 7-pin connector socket.

We tow the RPOD with a 2014 Chrysler Town and Country. Since posting my question, I checked the battery water and found one battery full, but added maybe 3 pints of distilled water to the other. Could it be that I was fooled by the one charged battery when I checked at home by turning on a light, but then had the charge drained by the fridge while driving about 3 hours? I am charging now at home, then will try the fridge on battery a few hours to see if the batteries hold a charge longer.
Btw, I did check the 7 pin connector and was told it was providing current. Thanks for the replies.

If you are running a fridge on 12v alone that will drain a battery pretty quickly.

Also, the 12v feed from the vehicle probably doesn’t have a large enough wire to keep up.

A battery that requires that much water to be added may be toast.
