A few simple general battery questions?

What actually charges my battery? What can I run on my battery? When the RV is not in use should battery disconnect be turned off. I have a 5th wheel and wonder if they all have inverters? We lived in 5th wheel for 5 months last summer with no problem.

Unless you have a residential refrigerator you won't have a inverter. On the battery disconnect I leave my camper hooked up all the time, I have used my battery disconnect. You converter charges your battery. It depends on how many amps your battery has as to what you can run off battery power. You got along five months without any problems. Google the 12 volt side of life part 1 and 2

The converter charges the battery. The battery powers your lights, propane starters in fridge, hot water heater, and space heater. It also powers any slides, Jacks, stabilizers, etc. A/C powers your fridge, air conditioning, outlets, inverter if you have one, and converter. Most recommend disconnecting battery if unit is left longterm on the converter as the charge it maintains can gradually boil water out of the battery. Certainly check the water level periodically if left connected.
